Lil Durk turns 21 today.
The GBE member recently signed to French Montana’s Coke Boyz and has continued to build his status in hip-hop. The Def Jam signee released his Signed To The Streets mixtape that showcases his strongest work yet. Getting in the studio with collaborators Paris Beuller, Zaytoven, and Young Chop, Durk weaves in straight-up rapping tracks and Auto-Tune anthems. So far, his tape is emerging as a sub-genre to Chicago’s drill sound.
Besides Durk’s musical output, he’s focused on building his own OTF imprint. While debuting “Turn Down For What,” he announced Newark’s own ADG was his first signee. He’s also looking ahead to dropping a remix to “Dis Ain’t What U Want” featuring Meek Mill, as well as his video to “Bang Bros.”
Happy birthday, Durk. Salute!
