Azealia Banks Dodges Beer Can While Performing In Australia, Abruptly Ends Show

Spin And Refinery 29 Present Azealia Banks And Hunters

Azealia Banks’ experience at the 2013 Listen Out Festival in Australia will be a memorable one for the 22-year-old rapper. Yesterday (October 5) footage was captured of a fan tossing a can at Banks right after the start of her set. According to accounts, she was supposed to perform a 50-minute set but tossed the mic and stomped off stage after someone threw a projectile in her direction only 90 seconds in.

A statement about the incident was released. It reads, “Azealia Banks was forced to cut her set short last night at the Listen Out Festival in Melbourne on 5th October 2013. This was as a result of a member of the audience throwing a full can on beer at her on stage. The incident made Azealia and her stage crew feel unsafe. Banks would like to apologize to those fans in the audience whose experience was affected by the behavior of one individual.”

According to reports, this was the second time someone threw a bottle at the rapper at the event. Last weekend, a concertgoer tossed a beer at Banks only 15 minutes into her set at the Listen Out fest in Sidney. Check out footage of the most recent incident, below.
