Kendrick Lamar Credits Jay Z For Pushing Fashion Forward
In an interview with online fashion magazine, Hypebeast, Kendrick Lamar discusses style and hip-hop and his thoughts on becoming a new fashion icon in the game.
"I feel comfortable with being a style icon," Kendrick Lamar told Hypebeast. "That's something new. I've been hearing that for quite some time this past year."
Kendrick also went to offer high praise to Jay Z for being a fashion icon himself and Hov's influence on Kendrick's personal fashion, as well as, his peers in his generation.
"In my generation, Jay Z always been that dude," Kendrick said praising Jay Z. "You want to put that jersey on. You want to put that button-up on. You want to get your grown-man on and everything nice and fitted. That's when everything as far as the baggy look started to die down just a little bit, when everybody wanted to feel a little bit more like they're Jay."
Kendrick also spoke on becoming a fashion designer, his favorite sneakers and his own personal style in the interview.
