Big Boi was in Atlanta on the set of the video shoot for Run The Jewels' "Banana Clippers" with Killer Mike and El-P, having recovered from the knee injury that forced him to have surgery this past May, when he stopped to speak to XXL about some of the projects he's been working on lately. The OutKast rapper, who is currently out on tour with Killer Mike playing rescheduled dates that had to be postponed due to the injury, is prepping more videos from his most recent album, last year's Vicious Lies And Dangerous Rumors.

"[I] just finished up wrapping up the 'Tremendous Damage' video, [and I] just put out the 'Thom Pettie' video last week," he said in a phone conversation. "I'm gonna shoot a couple more visuals for the album, visualizing Dangerous Rumors man, you know people loving it."

Big also dished on some of the new music he's been working on with longtime collaborator Ray Murray of famed ATL production group Organized Noize. "[I've been] rocking crowds, just got back from doing the Rifflandia Festival in Canada, so my calendar stay booked," he said. "Then I came home, cut a couple records, I've been in the studio with Ray from Organized Noize cooking up some shit. Hell yeah, it don't stop."

Janelle Monáe, who Big discovered in Atlanta in the early-to-mid 2000s, also just released her sophomore album The Electric Lady, which has high-profile features from Prince, Erykah Badu and Miguel, among others. "I signed Janelle Monáe, that's my artist," he said about the young singer. "I discovered her, that's my little sister. I'm proud of her, the album is awesome, it's out right now. It's all about keeping music going, man. Positive energy for everybody."
