Petition Started To Rename Brooklyn Street After The Notorious B.I.G.

A Brooklyn resident has started an online petition calling for the city of New York to change the name of a BK street in honor of the late rapper, The Notorious B.I.G. Leroy McCarthy has started a petition on Change.org that proposes to change the name of Big’s childhood stomping ground, St. James and Fulton Place to Christopher Wallace Way.

Cash Money Signs Multi-Million Dollar Partnership Deal With Austin Mahone’s Chase Records

Cash Money wasn’t messing around when they announced they’d signed 17-year-old YouTube-fuelled pop star Austin Mahone last week—over the weekend, they announced they’d gone further and signed a huge partnership with Mahone’s label Chase Records, which will see the two joining forces to put out the teenager’s debut album in the fourth quarter of the year.

 Lupe Fiasco Sued For Allegedly Hiding Millions For Drug Kingpin

TMZ is reporting that Lupe Fiasco has been named as a defendant in a new lawsuit by the estranged wife, Inita Patton, of convicted drug kingpin, Charles “Chilly” Patton. Patton’s wife is accusing Fiasco of helping her husband move $9 million dollars into various accounts preventing her from accessing money as part of the couple’s divorce proceedings. However, Lupe Fiasco denies lawsuit allegations on Twitter.

Lil Kim Responds To Lil Wayne’s Jab On ‘Dedication 5′

Over the past weekend, Lil Wayne’s highly anticipated mixtape series, Dedication, dropped its 5th installment on Sunday (Sept. 1).  The mixtape has been the talk of the town, especially “Pure Colombia.” On the instrumental for Young Scooter’s hit track “Columbia,” Weezy throws a shot at Queen Bee, rapping “Changed the face of my Rolex, shout out to Lil’ Kim,” referring to her multiple reconstruction surgeries.  She responded on Twitter.

Jay Electronica Wanted “Control” For His Own Album

In an interview with Vibe.com, Jay Electronica revealed that he wanted to release Big Sean’s “Control” on his upcoming album. Prior to the leak of the song a few weeks back, Jay Elect had expressed a desire to take the track for his himself after Big Sean told him that the song would not be coming out on Big Sean’s Hall Of Game.

NYC Mayoral Candidate Bill de Blasio Names Favorite Wu-Tang Member

Public Advocate Bill de Blasio has by far been the loudest voice against stop-and-frisk, which was a big part of why Peter Rosenberg endorsed him on Hot 97 last week (in addition to de Blasio’s stance on marijuana and his son’s now-famous afro). Rosenberg invited de Blasio to stop by the station for a second interview in the days leading up to the election, saying, “I think that you would be the favorite candidate from our audience, and I think more people need to be aware of what you’re doing and what you’re saying.”
