With his last album Prisoner of Conscious still on the shelves and an upcoming tour with Big K.R.I.T. and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis on the horizon, Talib Kweli isn't standing still. Yesterday while speaking with XXL, Kweli mentioned he's started working with A Tribe Called Quest's Q-Tip on a new album, tentatively scheduled for next year.

"Q-Tip—I'm working with Q-Tip on my new album," Kweli said in a phone conversation. "Just being around him and seeing him work, I've now watched him get giddy over samples and play me beats and stuff. And it's like, wow, is this how he made Midnight Marauders?"

Kweli also mentioned the album's planned title, though much more than that isn't known. "The new album [is] called Gravitas, but I've just started on it so there's not that many details yet," he said.

In addition to his upcoming tour, Kweli spoke at length about his work with the Dream Defenders organization, which will be occupying Florida Governor Rick Scott's office in order to raise awareness about changes in the Florida lawbooks in the aftermath of the Trayvon Martin verdict.
