Method Man and Redman have been working together since the mid-1990s, when they first collaborated on the 1995 hit "How High." The song later spawned a movie, a remix, and a close friendship that has led to two fantastic albums and a working relationship that pushes both to perform at the highest level every night. In an interview with HipHopDX, the duo discussed a number of early stories about their then-budding friendship and working relationship, including meeting at Kriss Kross' album release party, the first songs they heard each other rap on, and one particular incident where Red lit Meth's feet on fire.

"He got mad at me for that shit," Redman said while describing the foot-fire incident. "That shit went up, and he got mad as hell. This nigga was like, 'Yo, don’t [be] lighting my god damn foot on fire, man!'"

"He lit my shit on fire, man," Meth said in response. "Friends don’t light friends on fire while they resting. Straight up. I ain’t no morning person and shit."

The duo, who have said they have another album in the works in addition to the long-rumored How High 2, which has been said to be in the works since the 2001 original, also spoke of their first meeting at Kriss Kross' album release party.

"I think we took two pictures," said Meth of the evening, "And that picture...that shit was in Hits, that shit was in fucking The Source, that shit was every fucking where. That one picture. And Nas was there too, but I ain’t see no pictures of Nas."

Check out the rest of the interview, where Red talks about his episode of MTV Cribs—he still hasn't gotten his doorbell fixed, by the way—and Meth speaks on his two decades in the game.
