Papoose Sends Shots To Kendrick Lamar On “Control” Response

papoose-1228

Kendrick Lamar has sent a huge riff in hip-hop for his scathing verse on Big Sean’s “Control.” There have been a number of responses from the likes of Joell Ortiz, B.o.B, Fred The Godson and plenty more. We’ve also heard some interesting reactions from the artists who were name-checked on the verse. Sadly, we won’t be hearing Joe Budden’s verse (“This is 4 Big, suicidal thoughts, Coogi printed.. This is for Nas Army jacket w the Uzi in it..”) or Fabolous’s (Still M.I.A.). However, Brooklyn’s own Papoose comes through with four minutes of lyrical barbs aimed at K.Dot.

Let’s be clear – Kendrick was the one who gave Pap an opportunity to perform at this year’s Summer Jam. He was thankful for that in his freestyle, but the pleasantries end there. He calls out Drake, Big Sean, Kanye West and the entire TDE label.

“Tell Kendrick and TDE they need to lay off the PCP/ Far from the king, this is the city of BDP/ You’ll never be a real west coast artist like Eazy-E/ You fucking joke, we laughing at you like hehehe/ Ya’ll probably stick dildos in each other like Stevie G/ I mean Stevie J on that sextape with E-V-E.”

That’s just a highlight. Listen below.

      • Al Capone

If yall created it then why are most of your rappers sound like the south? Stick to what yall created.

That’s the commercial cats tryin’ to ride the wave and get some money. Real representers like ortiz and pap stick to that raw ny hip hop that the whole world was influenced by.

So Papoose dissed this man a storm… and the NY phrase was nothing more than a Kurupt quote… lol. Awkward…

  • Zachery Quinones

I forgot Pap was even still rhyming…

  • Joshua

Nice rhymes but if you think about the stuff he calls kendrick out on is not even true

  • Mitch Gilliam

man he said “grown men laughin like “hehehe” O_o and you “Corny like an E-Y-E” haha, man…he had some decent bars, but blew himself with those two weak lines

    • WestCoast

Actually, he said “Cornier like an E-Y-E”, which with his pronunciation sounded like “Cornea”, which is a part of the human eye. I’m not a Kendrick fan, a Papoose fan, or a punchline lover at all, but that line for me was the standout in the entire song. The reason wack shit keeps getting over these days is because the average consumer has become too lazy and inattentive to catch lines like this, that are actually in-depth interpretations of witty and intellectual thought. Learn to listen deeper, kids; THEN your favorite rappers will start WRITING deeper.
