Last night, 9th Wonder held a private listening session for Rapsody’s forthcoming mixtape, She Got Game, due out August 20. While supporters were waiting to hear her tape, 9th and Guru couldn’t help to discuss the hot topic in hip-hop and whether anyone can deliver a proper response to Kendrick’s verse.

These two are good friends who have done a lot for the culture. They are also not afraid to speak their minds about things that could possibly change the game. During their candid conversation, Guru predicted that a few subpar New York rappers would respond to Kendrick’s verse, before we see the top-tier rappers give us their lyrical heat. It turns out Guru was almost correct since B.o.B was the second rapper to release a freestyle with “How To Rap.”

Other highlights include Guru saying Kendrick put up "55 points" and other rappers need to surpass that if they want to make a statement. “He put the pressure on these n*ggas. N*ggas is hovering over MBoxes right now! They on revision five!" he joked.

Moments after the conversation was over, 9th previewed Rap’s She Got Game mixtape. The concept revolves around her running with the boys in terms of rhymes and skills. Guest appearances on the tape include Chance The Rapper, Nipsy Hussle, Mac Miller, Common, Ab-Soul, Problem, Raekwon, Wale, Raheem DeVaughn, DJ Premier and many more surprises.
