12 Reasons Why Pharrell Had The Best Summer
Pharrell Williams has literally has one of the best summers ever. His name has been associated with just about every major album coming out. Artists are running to get this man in the studio with them. He had at one point the number one and number two Billboard Hot 100 record with "Blurred Lines" and "Get Lucky." His brand, Billionaire Boys Club turned 10 this year, plus the man still looks like he's in his 20s. Here are 12 reasons why Pharrell had the best summer ever.
"Blurred Lines"
Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" featuring T.I. and Pharrell spends an 11th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is arguably the song of the summer. This is Pharrell's third Billboard Hot 100. His previous was Snoop Dogg's "Drop It Like It's Hot" (three weeks, 2004) and Ludacris' "Money Maker" (two, 2006).
"Get Lucky"
Some may say this is the song of the summer. The Daft Punk cut off Random Access Memories featuring Pharrel Williams is a smash it, played at all night clubs across the world. At one point "Blurred Lines" and "Get Lucky" was one and two on the Billboard Hot 100. How's that for a summer.
Despicable Me 2
When he's wasn't making number one hits, Pharrell returned with composer Heitor Pereira, to do the soundtrack for Despicable Me 2, a super popular animated movie about a bad guy turned good. The whole soundtrack is all original music.
New Bike Company
Pharrell rode into the VMAs last Sunday in style, doing promo for his new bike company he's starting with BMXers Nigel Sylvester. The company will be called Brooklyn Machine Works, and will sell BMX bikes with components from Animal Bikes.
