Nicki Minaj Responds To DJ Khaled’s Proposal: “He Was Kidding!”

Many people around the world were scratching their heads when they saw the viral video on MTV of DJ Khaled proposing to Nicki Minaj. Rumors and memes were spinning out of control because Nicki had yet to respond to Khaled. Now, she cleared things up on Monday night and confirms it was a stunt to promote his new single, “I Wanna Be With You.”

During her post interview after Funkmaster Flex premiered Khaled’s latest single, she broke her silence and set the record straight. "I was shocked just like the rest of the world and I was cracking up laughing with the rest of the world 'cause Khaled is a master at what he does," she said. Afterwards, Minaj added she hasn’t spoken to Khaled about the promotional move that duped everyone.

She continued, “Khaled is my brother and Khaled was not serious with that damn proposal, ya'll. Please let it go. He was kidding.”

Khaled’s legendary proposal looked serious. He described the reasons why they were perfect for each other, specifically saying, “We got the same symptoms, we're both suffering from success." He later explained in an interview with Power 106’s DJ Fellie Fel that he wasn't a "young boy anymore." "I’m on my thinking the future. I just had to be honest. I always liked her. She’s my friend, of course. And I like her. It’s more than a crush,” he admitted.
