Master P just made history. The No Limit leader becomes the first hip-hop artist to be inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. P—real name Percy Miller—is among legends such as Louis Armstrong, Elvis Presley and Mahalia Jackson.

Master P got into rap in the late 1990s and helped pioneered southern hip-hop into the entity we see today. His single, “Make ‘em Say Ugh,” was a game-changer that catapulted his stardom to a national level. Years later, he would establish No Limit Records, which holds the accolade for selling the most albums in the year.

On the Fourth of July, Master P was granted membership into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. You can watch footage above.
