DJ Khaled Explains Why He Wants Nicki Minaj’s Hand In Marriage

Call it a publicity stunt or call it true love, but DJ Khaled is dead serious about whatever he is trying to accomplish with his recent proposal to lablemate, Nicki Minaj. Last week, Khaled shocked the entertainment world when he proposed to the YM first lady via a videotaped message on MTV News, offering Harajuku Barbie a 10-carat diamond engagement ring.

The We The Best CEO recently chopped it up with Power 106’s DJ Fellie Fel and reaffirmed his desired dedication to Minaj. “I aint a young boy no more. I'm on my thinking the future. I just had to be honest. I always liked her. She’s my friend, of course. And I like her. It’s more than a crush,” he admitted. Despite Nicki having a long time boyfriend and Khaled reportedly being married, the DJ feels like he is the one for her. “I feel like I understand. I know she’s out there hustling and I respect that. I feel like I can take care of her and not just that, she’s beautiful,” he said.

Nicki has yet to respond. Khaled said if the answer is no he would take it in stride. But he wont be turned down without a fight. “She might say yeah tonight or tomorrow, she might say yeah next year. What am I gonna do, give up? Never. I ain’t never give up on nothing I do.”

Khaled even offered another proposal on-air. “I ain’t changing that,” he added.
