5 Rappers Who Underwent Serious Surgeries

Paul Wall

Paul Wall Undergoes Weight Loss Surgery, December 2010

Paul Wall, the Southern hit-maker behind songs like “Sittin’ Sidewayz” and “Still Tippin’” went through a bit of a reevaluation when doctors told him in 2010 that he was “morbidly obese.” To fight his weight problem, Paul got a gastric sleeve weight-loss surgery. He went on to tell Ozone Magazine about the surgery, explaining, “The surgery I got is called gastric sleeve. There’s three kinds: gastric bypass, lap band and the gastric sleeve. Gastric bypass is the one where you lose the most weight the quickest; it’s for people who are 400-500 pounds and have health problems that they need to fix right away.” He continued, “[My weight] has been up and down my whole life, so I wanted to do something to permanently fix the problem.” The result of his gastric sleeve surgery left Wall 100 pounds lighter, and he went on to say, “I feel like I got my life back.”
