This week's release schedule is loaded up with young talent continuing to push the boundaries and a couple old heads setting out to recapture the magic. Without further ado, here's a rundown of the biggest hip-hop releases slated for this week.

Action Bronson and Harry Fraud — Saab Stories, June 11

This tape has been talked about since last year, and with both Bronson and Fraud on a seemingly meteoric rise to the top of their respective games, it's coming at a perfect time. The Brooklyn-based producer's vivid soundscapes mesh well with the Queens wordsmith's laconic delivery and flow, making them a formidable duo. First single "Strictly 4 My Jeeps" came packaged with one of the more hilarious videos of the year, then got flipped with a "Queens Remix" featuring LL Cool J and Lloyd Banks, before Bronsolini dropped the second single, the Wiz Khalifa-assisted "The Rockers" last Friday. Raekwon and Prodigy also make appearances, and the cover art is... something to behold, at least. Fraud has said that the two have more material on the way, and Bronson still has his major label debut with Atlantic on deck, but this tape should more than satisfy fans. —Dan Rys (@danrys)

Fat Tony drops his third project with Smart Ass Black Boy on Young One Records, which comes as his biggest release to date by far. With co-signs from Bun B and collaborations with A$AP Rocky and Das Racist, Tony's been bubbling under the surface of the national consciousness since emerging on the Houston scene in 2010, with this new record serving as a coming out party of sorts. He's been dropping tracks since last year, and unveiled the visuals for "BKNY" (feat. Old Money) in November via Noisey. Last week he handed the project over to NPR to stream as part of their First Listen series, launching him firmly into center stage. —Dan Rys (@danrys)

Ever since Gunplay’s fiery verse on Kendrick Lamar’s “Cartoon & Cereal,” his upcoming album Living Legend has been regarded as the project that could very well be his big break into the mainstream. For now, the MMG rapper supplies us with another set of tracks in his latest mixtape, Acquitted, due out on June 11.  The snippets — which hit the Internet last week — give us a closer lens into the mind of Gunplay with riotous cocaine raps, as well as standouts like “Bible On The Dash.” Let this tape serve as another appetizer to the main course. —Eric Diep (@e_diep)

Just over a month after the release of Rittz’s Life & Times of Jonny Valiant, another Atlanta misfit is releasing his proper debut. After years of going against the grain in his hometown, Jarren Benton found himself with an impressive online following via 2011’s “Skitzo” and a co-sign from Hopsin. Not long after, Jarren signed with Hopsin’s Funk Volume label and released his breakout project last year Freebasing With Kevin Bacon. Now, Benton releases My Grandma’s Basement, an album the 31-year-old says will highlight a side of him his fans have yet to see. “A lot of other projects I was putting out was just crazy shit,” Jarren told us last week. “A lot of crazy, in your face shit where nobody really got to know who Jarren is.” Pick up My Grandma’s Basement tomorrow and find out for yourself. —Neil  Martinez Belkin (@Neil_MB)

Prodigy and Alchemist — Albert Einstein, June 11

The history behind these two goes back more than a decade to the days when Mobb Deep ruled the streets of Queens, and the two got back together for this album which has been on its way for a long time. P grabs collabs from Raekwon, Action Bronson, Domo Genesis and Roc Marciano, and even finds room for old cohort Havoc, the two having buried their beef. As for The Alchemist, he's gotten pretty heavy into serving as the sole producer on full-length projects, having helmed Bronson's Vice Records debut mixtape Rare Chandeliers from back in December. The two dropped the album's first single way back in January, and then unleashed the grisly-yet-beautiful cover art and tracklist in April. The snippets that dropped two weeks ago provided a taste, but the full project should see the two return to the form that took them both to the higher levels of the hip-hop game in the late 1990s. —Dan Rys (@danrys)

Joey Bada$$ is set to release his second full length project with Summer Knights on June 12th, exactly one year  from his breakthrough mixtape 1999. Its going to be a 17-track LP that only features his camp, Pro Era, with production from Statik Selektah, Lee Bannon, Chuck Strangers and Kirk Knight. The Brooklyn native had an amazing year, linking up with MCs such as A$AP Rocky and Raekwon, being named to the 2013 XXL Freshmen class and turning down a deal with Roc Nation to stay independent. In May, Joey dropped the Statik Selektah-produced track “Word Is Bond” to feed his fans a taste of his new upcoming project. Since 1999, he has released two projects so far in Rejex, a compilation of tracks that didn't make it to his debut mixtape, and P.E.E.P: The aPROcalypse, a 17-track mixtape featuring the entire Joey Bada$$-led crew. He is set to hit the road for 'Under the Influence of Music' Summer Tour with Wiz Khalifa, A$AP Rocky, B.o.B, and Trinidad Jame$. —Emmanuel C.M.
