The 9 Best Twitter Rants In Recent Memory

Lupe Fiasco On Violence, March 2013

Lupe Fiasco has always been an outspoken and socially aware artist, but in this harsh rant from mid-March of this year, Lupe took on the genre and the game that gave him his star. In it, he called out the promotion of violent music and quoted Eminem and Dr. Dre’s “Guilty Conscience.” He went on to say:

“If you rap and make violent music then own up to it. Stop hiding behind ‘art imitating life’ as a way to evade the guilt.”

“The issue stands that violent music puts violence into this world one way or another.”

“It creates the atmosphere that violence is an acceptable means to an end.”

“you may not give two shits about the next man and his troubles and thats cool with me…”

“but don’t sit there and act like high ass inner city murder rates are just falling from the sky for absolutely no reason.”
