The RZA, Earl Sweatshirt, Schoolboy Q, Solange, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and Chad Hugo of the Neptunes are taking part in Bonnaroo's Friday night Superjam this year, the festival confirmed today. The all-star collective will be backed by New York City-based funk collective Lettuce.

Bonnaroo has a history of bringing together some unlikely collaborations and unannounced guests at their late-night Superjams, which generally start at midnight and bleed into the early hours of the morning. The two other Superjams happening at next weekend's festival include a set with Jim James, John Oates, and Zigaboo Modeliste of the Meters backed by the Preservation Hall Jazz Band on Saturday night and a bluegrass-themed throwdown led by comedian Ed Helms and special guests. With the inclusion of the RZA in the hip hop Superjam, Wu-Tang Clan's set has been moved up to the 7:30-9 pm slot on Friday evening.

Last year, a surprise appearance by the rejuvenated D'Angelo highlighted the big jam session, as he came out and performed for over an hour backed by the Roots, playing songs by Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles, and Led Zeppelin. New Orleans Voodoo legend Dr. John sat in with the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach the year before.

Bonnaroo 2013 takes place June 13-16 in Manchester, TN.
