Jay-Z just hijacked halftime of the NBA Finals to announce Magna Carta Holy Grail, a new album slated for release on July 4. In the three-minute television spot, Hov teases the album with in-studio footage of himself, Rick Rubin, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz and Pharell. Jay-Z has partnered with Samsung for this unorthodox album rollout, and the first million Samsung Galaxy owners to download the Magna Carta app will get the album for free. Less than a month ago, we all gushed over the launch of Kanye West’s Yeezus marketing campaign. Looks like Big Brother has some tricks up his sleeve as well. Magna Carta Holy Grail is 17 days away.
