Queen Latifah Signs On For Talk Show “The Queen Latifah Show”

It looks like another hip-hop icon is making the move to television.

Following in the footsteps of Nicki Minaj and her Just Wright co-star Common, Queen Latifah has signed on to host a new hour-long daytime talk show called “The Queen Latifah Show.” The show will feature a mix of celebrity interviews, live music performances and human interest stories.

The show begins airing this September 16 on CBS and its affiliate stations. It is produced in part by fellow MC Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith and Latifah’s own Flavor Unit Entertainment.

This is hardly Queen Latifah’s first television appearance, having guest starred on numerous shows like “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Aire,” “Living Single” and “Saturday Night Live.”

How about ‘Following in the Footsteps of HERSELF’. Dumbasses. She already had a syndicated talkshow called … wait for it… The Queen Latifa Show.. it ran from 1999 – 2001. No wonder XXL is going out of print..

I didn’t see your reply. I had made one of my own because I wondered why in the world this article writer did not know that but I didn’t want to sound rude. So I essentially said the same as you….you made me laugh! :)

This is not Ms. Dana Owens first talk show. Did you know that she had one in the early 2000s? You did not mention that at all, but she did.

  • Just saying

“This is hardly Queen Latifah’s first television appearance” as in this is NOT her first talk show either, therefore NOT following the steps of anyone you’ve mentioned. A simple google or wikipedia search would have helped. Shouldn’t “report” on things without knowing ALL of your facts.

HOpe she finally comes out. Rosie, Ellen have proved lesbians can do well in daytime talk. You cant connect to the audience if youre not being honest. Has she lost weight? The above picture airbrushed within its life makes her look truly stunning
