2 Chainz captured old and new hip-hop fans with his Grammy-nominated debut, Based On A T.R.U. Story. The former Playaz Circle member is currently at the upper echelon in hip-hop, and all eyes are on his sophomore effort. The expectations are high.

In November 2012, Chainz told MTV News that he had a handful of songs set aside for the album. "I have three songs already recorded and I have one feature on the song," he said. "I don't wanna put that out [yet]; you gotta wait, but it's dope."

The wait is still a long one, but September 10 will come sooner than you think. Chainz is a busy artist who manages to stay working through his countless features on various projects. His popularity soars because of his infectious lyrics, which range from humorous (“Then put a fat rabbit on the Craftmatic”) to witty (“And all I get is cheese like I’m taking pictures”).

Chainz’ lyrics were the topic of discussion in his recent article in GQ for their June 2013 issue. The Atlanta rapper discussed his approach to rhymes for his second album, in which he stated, "There's nothing new under the sun.”

He continued, "Everyone's sold dope, fucked bitches, popped champagne, shot guns. I'll take the extra minutes to do it a new way."

Let’s see if he'll deliver again.
