Who Needs New Friends: DJ Khaled’s Favorite Collaborators

The XXL editorial team hasn't gotten much work done this week, mostly because we've been obsessively watching DJ Khaled's new "movie," No New Friends. At this point, it's become more of a motto/movement/lifestyle for us than just a movie, and we're essentially ready to lobby for it to be screened at this year's Cannes film festival.

We can't pretend to relate to what Khaled is going through in his current social life, but more than anything the movie got us thinking about Khaled's diminishing circle of friends, that is if he has really embraced the "no new friends" lifestyle. As we anticipate the announcement of features on his seventh album, Suffering from Success, we took a look back at Khaled's most frequent collaborators in order to make an educated guess as to who's probably going to be on the record.

And remember - No New Friends.

Rick Ross

Number of collaborations with Khaled: 22

It's safe to say that Ross and Khaled are pretty much BFFs, as Ross has appeared on all six of Khaled's albums. And with his latest single "No New Friends" making the rounds, it's likely that Khaled's upcoming Suffering from Success will find the Bawse making multiple appearances throughout.

Lil Wayne

Number of collaborations with Khaled: 12

Surprisingly, Weezy F. Baby has only appeared on five of Khaled's six LPs and has ten less features to his name than Rozay. But when you break down their discography together, Wayne has been featured on nearly every one of the DJ's lead singles, most notably "I'm On One" and "We Takin' Over."

Birdman

Number of collaborations with Khaled: 11

Birdman has earned the distinct honor of being the only other rapper besides Rick Ross to appear on every one of Khaled's albums, with 11 total tracks together. And with Khaled signed to Baby's YMCMB imprint, it's a safe bet that he'll grace a cut or five on Suffering from Success.

Ace Hood

Number of collaborations with Khaled: 13

There are definitely a lot of perks that come with signing to Khaled's We the Best imprint, and one of them is racking up guest features on his albums. Ace comes in hot with a hefty 13 appearances, beginning with Khaled's third LP, We Global.

Fat Joe

Number of collaborations with Khaled: 12

Even though he reps YMCMB these days, Khaled did get his start spinning for Fat Joe and the Terror Squad, which obviously led to the Bronx rapper jumping on Khaled's albums. Although he's been somewhat quiet lately, don't be surprised if Joey Crack hops on Suffering from Success.

T-Pain

Number of collaborations with Khaled: 7

Although he's also been relatively quiet recently, it appears that T-Pain has become Khaled's go-to singer with a whopping seven features. And after the success of singles like "All I Do is Win" and "Welcome to My Hood," fans can expect to hear T's distinct warble on the YMCMB DJ's future projects.

Young Jeezy

Number of collaborations with Khaled: 7

Jeezy and Khaled have a long history together that's led to the Snowman making seven appearances on four of Khaled's album. However, Jeezy was not featured on Khaled's most recent LP, and given his ongoing feud with Khaled's cohort Rick Ross, it's possible that the ATL rapper may not grace the tracklist for Suffering from Success.

Trick Daddy

Number of collaborations with Khaled: 5

Early on in his career, Khaled gave some shine to veteran Miami rapper Trick Daddy, clocking in five total collaborations together over the course of three albums. Alas, the duo haven't worked together since 2008's We Global, and with Lil Wayne recently getting Trick kicked out of a strip club, it's likely the two won't be linking up anytime soon, but who knows.

Bun B

Number of collaborations with Khaled: 5

Here's a fun fact: Bun B has appeared on every single one of DJ Khaled's albums, excluding last year's Kiss the Ring. Not sure what you can really do with that kind of info, but hey, it might make you the most knowledgable person about DJ Khaled at your next party. That's a thing, right?

Plies

Remember Plies? Khaled certainly does. Plies has racked up five guest appearances on Khaled's five most recent LPs, including singles like "Out Here Grindin'" and "Welcome to My Hood." It's safe to say that Dade County looks out for each other.
