Jay-Z endured some criticism when he revealed on his new song “Open Letter” that he got White House clearance for his trip to Cuba. Rather than leaving it up to speculation, President Barack Obama addressed the controversial trip on The Today Show. What happens in rap, stays in rap.

“I wasn’t familiar that they were taking the trip. My understanding is, I think they went through a group that organizes these educational trips down to Cuba. This is not something the White House was involved with. We’ve got better things to do.”
