Seminal mixmaster DJ Clue was arrested for drug possession and driving violations, NBC 4 New York reports.
Around 2 AM this morning, NYPD stopped Clue at a traffic checkpoint in lower Manhattan on Varick Street. After checking his driving record, they found that the 38-year-old DJ and radio host had been driving with a license that had been suspended eight times.
During a later search, police found a small package of tin foil containing three pills on Clue’s person. He was then taken into custody and officially charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and aggravated unlicensed operator.
Clue is expected to appear in a Manhattan court sometime later today.

UPDATE: DJ Clue has been released on bail today following yesterday’s arrest for criminal possession of a controlled substance and aggravated unlicensed operator. Clue’s lawyer Xavier Donaldson spoke on the pending case, saying that the accusations against his client are false.
“He doesn’t drive around with a suspended licence nor does he drive around with any illegal items,” Donaldson said.
Clue is due back in court on June 20th.
