King Los and Lola Monroe announced they were welcoming a newborn son. In our exclusive interview with the Bad Boy rapper, he revealed to us the name of his son and explained how the decision was made. If you didn’t get a chance to hear the story, he said one of his friends suggested the name and ran with it when Lola was about three months pregnant.

After settling into parenthood, Los and Lola are getting back to work. Their upcoming mixtapes—Los’ Becoming King and Lola’s Lipsticks and Pistols—are still set to release later this year.

Joe Budden vs. Consequence

Tensions reached a breaking point for Joe Budden and Consquence. We broke down the situation thoroughly here.

Sometime after the scuffle, Cons called into Hot 97 to tell his side of the story. According to Cons, the whole physical encounter stemmed from a recent interview Budden did with Thisis50.com’s Jack Thriller. Joey said if the beef wasn’t settled through their prior discussion, it would have to be handled in a different manner. Here were some more key things in the interview.

Allegations that Consequence ran after hitting Joe Budden in the first altercation:

“Nobody ran. I’m not gonna run from Tahiry. Unfortunately, when I smacked [Joe]—from what I was told by one of the stylists or production people—when I extended, it hit Tahiry. So she reacted and she hit me. And that a girl hitting me, and I like Tahiry. Shoutout to Tahiry. It felt good.”

The details of the second run-in:

“Let me tell you what happened. I come outside, they got cameras all out when I’m leaving out. ‘Yo Consequence, that’s effed up what you did.’ Snuffs me. Boom. [Joe] runs. ‘Come here fat boy, let’s get it rocking!’ So I got my hands up, let’s get it. Security holding me back, son run up on me. Boom boom boom, we tussling. Here comes Joe. ‘Oh, this is you, aight cool, let’s go!’ Boom boom boom. That’s where, when you seen the footage, I get up, I’m laughing.”

Justin Timberlake Addresses His Line Towards Kanye West

Justin Timberlake doesn’t really have a reason to beef with anybody. At the same time, he subconsciously felt the need to respond to Kanye West’s opinion about “Suit & Tie.” During his performance on SNL, JT replaced the lyric, “Shit’s so sick, got a hit and picked up a habit,” to “My hit’s so sick, got rappers acting dramatic.” He appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon a few days later to speak on the matter. He played dumb with Fallon and clarified that it’s all love towards Kanye.

"Let me just say, for the record, I absolutely love Kanye So there's that. We love Kanye, right?”

Side note: Apparently JT and Jay-Z have quite the stash of records tucked away. Kanye is just gonna have to deal with the fact that this new partnership will be around for a while.

Old 'Ye Coming Back?

Heatmakerz producer Rsonist got some shine this week for announcing their involvement in Kanye West’s upcoming sixth solo LP. In the past, Yeezy’s signature sound was swift soul samples that he used to make his name. According to Rsonist, it appears the G.O.O.D. Music leader is returning to the sound that he popularized. There isn’t any confirmation if the track will land on the album, but here’s hoping that it does.

Gucci Mane Allegedly Drops Waka Flocka Flame From 1017 Bricksquad

Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame has been an undeniable pair, dropping plenty of street heat under the Bricksquad umbrella. The CEO tweeted late Friday night tweet that said he was dropping Waka and selling his contract to the highest bidder. For reasons unknown, Guwop wasn’t happy with Waka’s loyalty as of late.

Although Warner Bros./Atlantic representative Rahim The Dream stated Gucci’s Twitter was hacked, Waka has said otherwise. Throughout his timeline, Waka has been retweeting comments from his followers who have shown support for Brick Squad Monopoly. We guess another Ferrari Boyz album is out of the question.

South By Southwest

SXSW 2013 dominated headlines. The festival came to an end early Sunday that boasted historical performances, secret shows, and artist showcases that impressed concertgoers. Prince and Justin Timberlake were among the big-name performances. Kendrick Lamar and Top Dawg Entertainment also took over with a few headlining gigs at Billboard, Spotify, VICE and Mass Appeal.

Fader Fort was nothing short of surprises. Artists who graced their stage were French Montana, Diddy, Earl Sweatshirt, to name a few. Bun B even tore through songs old and new, including his verse on “Big Pimpin’.” Needless to say, each showcase down in Austin felt like it was one-of-a-kind.
