UPDATE: Too $hort Released From Jail

Veteran Bay Area rapper Too $hort was reportedly arrested early Wednesday morning in Los Angeles after attempting to run from police.

According to TMZ, $hort was pulled over in L.A. for an unknown traffic violation. When police authorities approached the vehicle, he appeared to have consumed too much alcohol.

Police continued with their standard procedures of administering a Breathalyzer test, the 46-year-old rapper attempted to run away. He was placed under arrest after he tripped from running down the street.

While on his way to the police station, $hort allegedly tried to dump some narcotics in the back of the police cruiser. He was placed in jail for DUI and felony narcotics possession.

As of press time, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department and a spokesperson for Too $hort could not be reached for comment.

Too $hort was released yesterday. While many suspected he would be charged with a DUI, he is actually only getting hit with a possession of narcotics charge. Watch the clip above.
