Last week, Ja Rule was released from an upstate New York prison for serving a two year sentence for illegal gun possession. However, he was moved into federal custody to finish up another sentence for tax evasion. Now, federal authorities say the platinum-selling rapper is expected to get released from Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center on July 28.

Ja admitted to failing to pay his taxes on more than $3 million earned between 2004 and 2006. During this time, Ja was living in New Jersey.
