Former No Limit rapper Mr. Magic was killed, along with his wife, in a car crash in Hattiesburg, MS on Friday (March 1). There are few details on the crash, but the couple’s 12-year-old daughter survived the accident which happened at night, according to Nola.com.

Born, Awood Johnson, in New Orleans’ 9th Ward, Magic spent the initial years of his rap career on No Limit Records, dropping three albums under the label including his debut, Sky's The Limit in 1998. He is probably most well known in the mainstream for his feature verse on C-Murder’s hit, “Fuck Them Other Niggas.”

Former label mates like Mystikal, Master P and Mia X have confirmed the rapper’s passing having expressed their condolences online. “RIP to my brother, Mr. Magic and his wife,” Mystikal tweeted. “God bless their families.” Mia X shared a photo Magic and his wife via Instagram with the caption, "I looked forward tp performing and laughing with you on friday but God chose you to be with him. Chasity was the LOVE of your life so God decided that she should join you. I know yall are in a better place but all of us who loved yall are shocked and hurt."
