Listen to Gillie Da Kid’s “Surviving” Off King Of Philly 2 [Premiere]

Gillie Da Kid got the streets talking again with his head-nodding anthem “Tryna Get Me One” featuring Pusha T. Since that song surfaced back in January, Gillie has been putting in work on his forthcoming mixtape, titled King of Philly 2. DJ Drama is hosting the tape, which he also collaborated on the previous installment that had guest features from Beanie Sigel and Freeway.

“Surviving” feels like a revival of Gillie's former sound. Producer Rugged Ness provides skittering drums and blaring horns for Gillie to paint us a picture of the North Philly grime. “I was raised in these streets, so you can’t tell me nothing about surviving,” he says on the chorus. More menacing rhymes continue that show his skills in full force. Be on the lookout in the coming weeks for King of Philly 2 dropping on February 28.
