Eve is glad to back in New York. She recently stopped by The Breakfast Club to speak on her comback to the rap game and what we can expect from her first new project in over ten years.

“I’ve been wanting to come back, but the situation hasn’t been right,” she said. “I felt mainly my situation as far as label stuff, management, lawyers—literally the whole situation. Now, it’s the right situation. I know it’s been a minute. I miss my music. Music is my first love.”

The former Ruff Ryder continued to explain how she fits in the current landscape of female MCs. She says that music is a lot more exciting, which allows her to experiment with her sounds and directions. This should be evident in her forthcoming album, Lip Lock, which is slated for May 14.

“So far, Jeremih is about to cut something. We got Chrisette Michele. We got Snoop. Juicy J, Pusha T on the [She Bad Bad] remix,” she said of the features so far. “A lot of people have been showing up which is also nice.”
