Snoop Lion Angered Rastafarians Officials Who Demand He Change His Name

As much as Snoop Dogg says he is Rastafarian, members of the Rastafari community don’t think so. In a new report by TMZ, they are threatening to sue Snoop for inappropriate use of their image.

Bunny Wailer, who is an original member of Bob Marley and the Wailers, is upset over Snoop’s documentary Reincarnated, which put a spotlight in his immersion into the Rasta culture last year.

Wailer states that Snoop participated in "outright fraudulent use of Rastafari Community's personalities and symbolism." He also disregarded any "contractual, moral and verbal commitments."

Leaders of the Rastafari Millennium Council spoke out on Snoop claiming to be part of Rastafari culture. In a 7-page demand letter, they wanted him to stop using the name “Lion,” as well as pay up the “financial and moral support and issue a public apology."

The group stand by their words when they say, "smoking weed and loving Bob Marley and reggae music is not what defines the Rastafari Indigenous Culture!"
