This past weekend, rapper and comedian Freddy E’s suicide sent waves all over Twitter. It was especially difficult for Honey Cocaine, who had to deal with Freddy’s fans for allegations that she was the root of his death.

In an interview with MTV News, Cocaine clears the air about her supposed relationship with Freddy. She says that it was strictly a friendship.

"What they don't understand is that we were friends, we were just friends. Blogs are saying that I was his ex-girlfriend and he did what he did because of a failed relationship. That has nothing to do with anything. I need people to understand that it was just a friendship," he said. "I just want people to know that we were just friends, and we did everything for each other as friends."

Honey explains how she learned about his unfortunate death. When she was returning from the gym, she checked her Twitter and found out that Freddy killed himself. At first she thought it was fake and reacted in an uncharacteristic way by sending out some regrettable tweets, which she quickly deleted.

She remembers Freddy as a strong person who was always in a good mood. At the same time, she believes that he had some personal issues that greatly consumed him.

“I just feel like he couldn't handle his problems anymore, and this is someone who had real, deep issues within him, and I didn't know, I guess his friends didn't know, she said. “And I guess he made himself seem happy, but he was really just holding everything inside.”
