Contractual obligations. When Big Boi left Jive for Def Jam to release his first solo album, they said that Andre couldn’t appear on any of his solo records (of course they waited until after he switched labels to tell him this). That’s why the “Lookin 4 Ya” record didn’t make Big’s first album.

The only way we’re going to here these two together is if they do another Outkast album (or if Outkast as a group leaves Jive). But Dre doesn’t seem to be in any mood to do a full length project.
