Nicki Minaj took the time out during her concert at New York City’s Roseland Ballroom on Tuesday night (August 14) to deliver a special message to Foxy Brown.

“I really wanna thank you for being one of my biggest influences in the game,” Nicki said onstage to Foxy herself, who was Minaj’s special guest at the NYC show. “I never really told Foxy how much she has influenced me and how much she changed my life, and you’ve gotta tell people that when they’re alive to even be able to take the compliment, instead of paying tribute to them when they’re no longer here.

“I never really knew how she felt about me—in the industry, with women, you kinda just tread lightly—and I’m glad I was able to finally come out and say: ‘You were the most influential female rapper to me,’” she added.

This being said, the question of who’s the most influential female MC is definitely debatable with rapstresses such as Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Lauryn Hill, Lil’ Kim and Foxy Brown, having all left their mark.

Having said that, XXL poses the question to fans: “Who’s the most influential female MC?”
