Brooklyn’s Mr. Muthaf**kin’ eXquire has been on the rise lately. Since signing with Universal Republic Records, the rapper who just last year worked as a security guard in Park Slope, has finished an entire tour with El-P, Killer Mike and Despot. With his debut EP, Power and Passion, coming out in September, Rolling Stone linked the eccentric rapper with Brooklyn’s legendary photographer Jamel Shabazz. In this exclusive footage by Rolling Stone, the photo historian visits eXquire’s living space (where he grew up since he was 11 years old), and conducts a photo shoot that’s the first of its kind for the rapper. Check out the footage above, and take a glimpse of eXquire’s life philosophies and perspectives.
