Alchemist Ranks No. 7 As Nas' Go-To Producer

Alchemist & Esco's first works together surfaced on Nas' 2002 The Lost Tapes, though the tracks were initially recorded during sessions for Esco's 2001 classic, Stillmatic. The Beverly Hills producer got behind the boards on two standout cuts from the album, "My Way," and "No Idea's Original." Alc would go on to play a major role in the production of Nas' next album, God's Son , where the Beverly Hills producer produced "Mastermind," "Revolutionary Warfare," "Thugz Mirror," and an XXL staff favorite, "Book of Rhymes," a concept record where Nas peruses through a book of unused raps, providing rhyme by rhyme commentary after he recites them. Nasreturned the favor in 2004, hopping on Alchemist's 1st Infantry on "Tick Tock," alongside Prodigy. It wouldn't be the last time the three linked up. 2011 saw the release of "Dog Shit," and "Get it Forever," two more Alchemist gems featuring the Queensbridge rappers.
