For his next solo album, ScHoolboy Q plans on having both hands on the wheel, with a specific destination in mind.

During a recent interview with Ashley Outrageous, Q shed light on his intentions for his next LP.

“It gotta be different,” emphasized ScHoolboy, who has also been going by the nickname Puff Daddy as of late. “It’s like Habits & Contradictions was different from Setbacks. Setbacks had a lot more content in it, a lot more meaningful topics. Habits & Contradictions was more of a funner project. Not so serious.

“The next project is just gonna be the both of them put together,” he continued. “It has to be them two combined but with a new sound. You got to make somebody cry every album, at east one song. That’s what we go by at TDE. If you ain’t making nobody cry at least one song, go back and revitalize the shit.”

Both Setbacks and Habits & Contradictions featured guest spots from members of his Top Dawg Entertainment crew, and the same can be expected for Q’s forthcoming effort.

“For the most part, I just want the homies on there, but I may throw a single out there with somebody name on it,” one-fourth of the Black Hippy collective said. “You know what I mean? Just to push it to the next level. But for the most part, I’m all about me and my homies.”

Still, TDE artists are not the only artists Q will work with. The interview also had him talking about recently collaborating with 50 Cent on the G-Unit general’s Five (Murder by Numbers) project.

“He shot me the record,” ScHoolboy said, referring to 50. “I always said 50 was cool.”—Christopher Minaya
