Oldies: Dipset Takes Over Rap City’s Tha Basement [Video]

“I’ma count money while they rhyme,” proclaims a pink Coogi-rocking Cam’ron in this vintage clip from BET’s Rap City Tha Basement series. In lieu of #ThrowbackThursday, XXLMag.com had to dig into the YouTube crates to pull out this past footage of the Diplomats, in pure form, as they take over Rap City’s freestyle booth. One of the key signature moments is, you guessed it, Killa Cam as he counts money and blows through his verse rapping “My AK was my AKA before my ABCs, that had me A-OK…four million from Def Jam and I ain’t sold a record for ‘em.”

Ahhh…those were the days.

Sorry, but this review is garbage. Cam played a 15 MINUTE SET at a show he was HEADLINING. Given, that set ruled, but 15 minutes? Seriously? The whole crowd was there to see him.

And for the record, he didn’t play “Speaking in Tungs.” The DJ played the first 30 second of the track, and when Vado’s verse came in, they cut the music and Cam made an announcement.

Did you even go to this show?

  • that nigga

WOW, she just killed Jim Jones!!!

    Here’s a reminder, hymen.
