Hit-Boy became a household name last year thanks to his production on one of 2011's biggest songs, Jay-Z and Kanye West's, "Niggas In Paris." Yesterday (June 7), though, the up and comer stepped out from behind the boards for all the world to see, as he posted his "Jay-Z Interview" video online—which has amassed nearly 100,000 views in the last 24 hours.

"I felt like it was super personal," Hit-Boy told XXLMag.com of the song, whose name, as well as his own, was trending on Twitter for much of the afternoon on Thursday. "It really was relatable to my last couple years and what I’ve been going through and what I’ve been experiencing. I felt like it was something that the people needed to hear. That’s why I waited so long to get that perfect visual. It came together at the right time. My boy Jelani, who always follows me around—I take him with me when I go oversees and stuff like that—we just had all this great footage and wanted to put something super personal together just to let people get some insight as to what happens on the daily for me. I feel like that translated and people are connecting."

The video opens with Jay-Z bringing out the California native at a Watch The Throne tour stop.

"We just got that footage when I was over in Paris, so it worked out super perfect," Hit-Boy continued. "We barely got that footage of him bringing me on stage, so it was like it was meant to be."

Though he has a relationship with Hov, the 25-year-old producer didn't name the song after him because of that.

"I had that title way before I had the song," he said. "When I finally linked up with Bink! [who produced the record], I heard that beat and it was a perfect beat for 'Jay-Z Intreview.' When you listen to a Jay-Z interview, you follow every word, and it’s compelling, and I just felt like I wanted to make a rap where you wanted to listen to every line from top to bottom."

Though Hit-Boy had kicked some verses on a few songs with his collective, Surf Club, this was, more or less, his introduction to the world as an artist.

"I can’t front, I was anxious to see how the people were going to react to it," he admitted. "It’s the internet, so some people ain’t going to take to it. But I got so much love, I’m just feeling overwhelmed. I’m excited about what’s to come."

What's to come, he says, are more records and possibly a mixtape. Plus, work with three of the biggest artists in music (and probably more).

"I got some new ’Ye stuff—should be coming in the next few weeks," he revealed. "I got a Justin Bieber and Drake collab on Justin Bieber’s new album [Believe, due out June 19]. My boy hooked me up with Bieber close to two years ago, and we just connected. He liked pretty much every beat I played him, and from that first batch I had gave him, he didn’t use any of those, but we reconnected again and I gave him three or four beats and he ended up using the joint. I went to the studio and he played me the joint, it was crazy."
