Azealia Banks having the same manager who represents Lady Gaga was regarded as a big deal. Not so much for the Harlem rapper.

Sources tell the New York Daily News that Banks has parted ways with Gaga’s manager, Troy Carter, after nearly two months, and is now managed by Dave Holmes.

Insiders tell the NY Daily News that Holmes, who’s in his 40s, has also been dating Banks for months. Holems has previously worked with the likes of Nelly and Eve.

Just two months back, Azealia tweeted in excitement over the news that Carter would manage her, including the fact that she would “have a whole new set of resources to take advantage of.”

According to one source who spoke to the News, however, Carter and Banks weren’t a “good fit, and things weren’t working out.”

That same source says it was Carter who “walked away” from Banks.

Azealia recently released her EP, 1991.

On Sunday night (June 3), while most rap fans were buzzing about Hot 97’s Summer Jam, others were rocking with Azealia at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City. That’s where Banks transformed the venue into a Mermaid Ball.

“This is my first show in my hometown!” Banks said on stage, as reported by Rolling Stone. “Who’s already drunk? Who’s already high? Who’s fucking tonight?”

Azealia helped generate buzz for herself via her single “212,” which was accompanied by a colorful video.

She also made news by thrashing fellow femcees like Kreayshawn and Iggy Azalea via Twitter.—Jakinder Singh
