Nas credits his daughter, Destiny, with the co-sign that fortified his decision to appear on Tyga’s LP, Careless World: Rise of the Last King.

But God’s Son didn’t need any advice on working with fellow Queens MC and Tyga’s Young Money labelmate, Nicki Minaj. He says he is a huge fan of the femcee.

“I mean it was crazy cause Nicki is out there doing it,” Nas recently told XXLMag.com. “She’s like the only female doing it. You got some new ones out her doing it—Azealia Banks, Iggy Azalea—you got them. But since we don’t hear much from Eve, Kim and Foxy these days, nobody can’t front, Nicki is representing. To be on her album, that shit was crazy.

“She put me on there on with Drake and Jeezy,” nas continued, referring to Minaj’s track, ‘Champions.’ “That’s a recipe of a masterpiece. I thought it was a perfect record and I think Nicki killed that shit.”

Esco was equally happy to appear on “Kings and Queens,” off Tyga’s album.

“Yeah man, you know…the youngin’ reached out,” Nas said about working with Tyga. “He’s out there doing his thing. I asked my daughter, that’s how that works. I probably don’t listen to everybody she listen to, but I have to show her I’m not hating. The ‘Rack City’ shit was a monster. It is a monster. Tyga, he do what he do. That was fun.”

Collaborations aside, Nas dropped the video to “The Don” single last week, with his 10th studio album, Life Is Good, slated for a July 17 release.—Shaheem Reid
