Last week, veteran R&B singer Brian McKnight became a trending topic on Twitter for previewing his “adult-themed” track, “iFUrReadyToLearn.” On the record, McKnight unabashedly croons, “Let me show you how your pussy works/Since you didn’t bring it to me first.”

The salacious lyrics set off a deluge of mixed reaction—salutes, insults and even laughter—via Twitter.

One person who didn’t waste time weighing in was Noreaga. The LeFrak City, Queens MC immediately tweeted McKnight, lending his support.

“@ItsBMcKnight I’m in full support and would like to do the Hiphop version of the REMIX let’s show them how they p___y works OG #bongata,” N.O.R.E. tweeted at the 42-year-old McKnight on April 24.

The Superthug immediately called on producer Scram Jones and the two dropped the grimy, “Pussy Works” on April 30, less than a week after McKnight initially previewed the track.

“I wanted to support him and have fun with it at the same time,” N.O.R.E. told XXLMag.com about his unofficial remix, which includes McKnight’s vocals. “I had a whole bunch of fun recording that with my boy Scram Jones.”

Did McKnight himself ever catch wind of the remix?

“57th Ave (Noreaga’s website) tweeted him, ‘What did you think of N.O.R.E. remixing the record and coming out with it before you?’” Noreaga said. “[McKnight’s] response was he loved it. L-O-V-E-D it!

I was trying to speak on his behalf, on his side. Obviously, I’m doing for the hood, but I think the whole thing is dope.”

McKnight would release “iFUrReadyToLearn” via iTunes on May 1, the strength of the single even earning McKnight an invite to the AVN Awards show, honoring adult films, according to TMZ.

While dropping the remix was a light-hearted matter, N.O.R.E. is hard at work promoting his latest mixtape, Crack on Steroids, featuring the likes of Busta Rhymes, Game, RZA, Styles P and Raekwon, the latter two appearing together with N.O.R.E. on the track, “Google That.”—Mark Lelinwalla
