Mac Miller is known as an artist that always keeps a smile on his face, and he spread some of that joy to another young man earlier this week.

Teaming with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Rostrum Records rapper got in the studio with Bobby Stewart, an 18-year-old who suffers from T-cell lymphoma, earlier this week. The two Pittsburgh area young'ns spent time at Mac's homebase of ID Labs, the studio where he has recorded for the last few years, as they worked on some music for Stewart.

"Feeling like your music really does something for the world makes it all worth it, no matter what," the 2011 XXL Freshman told WTAE in Pittsburgh. "From now on, no matter what happens for the rest of my life, no one can take that away from me."

Stewart seemed similarly excited, not surprisingly, to have one of his idols help him hone his skills at his passion. "To be with Mac is a blessing," he said. "His lyrics are amazing. Hip hop is my passion. To be able to be with Mac Miller. He is a Pittsburgh legend."

"He has something real to say," make said of his fan-turned mentee. "And it's important, and it's different, and it's cool."

Mac will be teaming up with another Pittsburgh native, Wiz Khalifa, for the upcoming Under the Influence Tour, which begins later this summer. Check out the dates below. —Adam Fleischer (@AdamXXL)
