Last Monday (5/14/12), Jay-Z  announced his partnership with Budweiser to curate and headline the Made in America music festival. Within a week’s time, phase one of the official line-up has been released, with more acts scheduled be added.

Hov is headlining the marquee event, which also has confirmed appearances by Odd Future, Roc Nation signee Rita Ora, D’Angelo and Janelle Monae. Maybach Music is also on the set list, as Wale and Rick Ross will hit the stage along with Philly hometown hero, Meek Mill.

The Made in America festival will feature 28 acts of all genres, and only 19 acts have been announced thus far. Pearl Jam, Skrillex, Mike Snow, Afrojack, Calvin Harris, Passion Pit, Santigold, Dirty Projectors, X, Prince Royce, Savoy (DJ set), The Knocks are among the other confirmed performers. And there's other performers expected to be added onto the bill.

The two-day musical extravaganza is set to take place during Labor Day weekend, September 1st and 2nd, at Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Fairmount Park.

The show will be separated into three different stages. Tickets for the event go on sale Wednesday (5/23/12) and can be purchased via Ticketmaster and Live Nation, with proceeds going towards the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. Presale tickets have already sold out, and tickets for the general public will be available tomorrow, at 10:00 AM. According to the Made In America Facebook page, there are still a limited amount of $99 packages available before the price rises to $135, plus applicable service charges.—Christian Bonoan
