Big Sean is hard at work, crafting his highly-anticipated sophomore album, which he’s eyeing for a September release. The energetic G.O.O.D. Music rapper is just missing one thing: An official album title.

Big Sean has thrown around names in hopes of locking in on one. One title it will not be, according to Sean, is Swerve, the popular adlib that the Detroit MC frequently says on records.

“Swerve is just my adlib…it ain’t going to be the title of my next album,” Sean recently told XXLMag.com with a smile. “That’s a good- ass title though. I ain’t mad at it. That’s just something we made up. We’ve been saying that for years in the D, so yeah, it might be.

“That’s hard though,” he continued. “People be talking shit because I be making up words, but I think it’s cool. You have to have an imagination to take it further.”

Although the LP doesn’t have an official title yet, Sean did disclose the producer of his lead single off the project.

“Key Wane actually produced my first single,” Sean said. “NO ID is probably executive producing, and he’s my A&R, him and Kanye, of course. Key Wane is from Detroit. We went to high school together; he was younger. He’s the first producer I signed, and he’s going to be legendary. I’m excited to be working with him.”

It’s shaping up to being a hot summer—make that a Cruel Summer—for Big Sean and his G.O.O.D. Music family. G.O.O.D. Music is expected to release their highly-anticipated album, Cruel Summer, within the summer months.

In the meantime, Sean has whet listeners’ appetites with solid verses on G.O.O.D. Music’s “Mercy,” Meek Mill’s “Burn” and Chief Keef’s remix to “I Don’t Like.” The Detroit rhymeslinger will also be featured on “As Long As You Love Me,” a track off Justin Bieber’s upcoming album, Believe.

On Tuesday (May 22), it was announced that Big Sean was nominated for three 2012 BET Awards, including Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, Best New Artist and Best Collaboration.—Christopher Minaya
