B.G.’s sentencing has been postponed to next month.

The rapper, born Christopher Dorsey, 31, is scheduled to appear in court again on June 13, according to the New Orleans Times Picayune.

According to the newspaper, B.G. is facing roughly eight to 10 years in prison on sentencing recommendations made by probation officers. Prosecutors, however, are seeking a longer prison stint.

The Times Picayune reports that B.G. was arrested with two other men in November 2009 for allegedly possessing three weapons, while driving in New Orleans. N.O. police say the three guns and the vehicle itself were stolen.

In December, BG plead guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm and witness tampering, but prosecutors have maintained that there’s no plea agreement in place.

B.G. was a core member of the Hot Boys. He splashed onto the scene with his 1996 debut album, Chopper City, It’s All on U Vol. 1 and followed with Vol. 2 in 1997. From there, he delivered Chopper City in the Ghetto in 1999. B.G.’s last offering was Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood back in 2009.

Earlier this month, another high-profile New Orleans rapper, Lil Boosie, was found not guilty of murder. On May 11, an East Baton Rouge Parish jury acquitted Boosie of the alleged murder-for-hire plot of Terry Boyd. Upon hearing the verdict, Boosie raised his right arm in the air, his hand balled in a fist. The Baton Rouge rapper is still currently serving out his eight-year sentence on drug charges, however.—Jakinder Singh
