Twista’s last offering, The Perfect Storm, came out on EMI back in 2010.

Now, nearly two full years later, the rap veteran and master of the double-time rhyme is a free agent, looking for a new label home…one that could very well wind up being Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint.

“It’s very possible,” Twista recently told XXL about the likelihood of him signing to Yeezy’s label. “My main producer, Traxter, is working a lot with [Kanye] lately, so that’s a possibility.”

The Chi-town MC, who has logged in over 20 years in the rap game, says rumors of him signing with Cash Money flooded the net last week.

Although he didn’t directly address those rumors, Twista does think he’d fit in well with G.O.O.D. Music, which already includes the likes of Big Sean, Kid Cudi and Pusha T.

“I don’t think [Kanye] really got nobody like me over there, so you need a person like me up in there,” he added, while flashing an ear-to-ear grin. “It’s an easy vision. Can we make a hit together? We tried once or twice…it worked.”

It certainly did work. ’Ye is responsible for crafting two of Twista’s biggest singles to date in “Slow Jamz” (2003) and “Overnight Celebrity” (2004).

In the time it will take to sign on with a new label—Twista says a decision should be made as soon as two weeks—the quick-tongued rhymeslinger is hard at work, putting together his upcoming mixtape.

The Don Cannon-helmed compilation already has a lead single in “Gucci Louis Prada,” which features YMCMB rhymer, Tyga.—Mark Lelinwalla
