Rico Love makes the most of his millions, writing and producing some of the biggest R&B hits. But he’s excited about cooking up some smash records with a couple of rappers too—T.I. and French Montana.

First up, a collabo with Tip featuring Usher, tentatively scheduled for T.I.’s, Trouble Man LP.

“It’s a dope record…it’s called, ‘Tomorrow Here We Come,’” Rico told XXLMag.com recently from his studio in Miami. “It’s something new for Tip. It’s a more crossover feel to it, but it definitely has bass and a lot of bottom, so it gives it that bump. Usher comes in on the chorus and blows the record out of the water, man.

“I definitely wanted to go with something that had a immediate radio and club record feel,” he added. “I did the joint and I loved it so much, I called Tip and said, ‘What are you doing tomorrow?’ He said ‘I’m here in the studio in Atlanta. I booked a flight and went to Atlanta the next day. Then he jumped on it, laid his verses right away. He started recording it that night. Right after, me and Usher hung out. I saw him and played it for him, he said, ‘As soon as I get back to Atlanta, let’s cut it.’”

But that’s not the only heat that Rico is promising. The famed producer says he also has been at work on tracks that are strong contenders to make French Montana’s Excuse My French debut album.

“We did some real dope shit,” Rico said. “We did like four records. It varies, we got some club shit, some radio shit, some shit for the smokers. He does records everyday.

“I tried to sign French when I was over at Universal,” he continued. “He has a whole movement, but what he’s doing is so cool. He’s not the most lyrical person, but there’s something about his voice, something about his presence, something about his flow that I really believe in." —Shaheem Reid
