Nas' recently-released "Daughters" track might be a hit with listeners, but the Queensbridge rapper's ex girlfriend isn't too happy with it. Carmen Bryan, the mother of Nasty's 17-year-old daughter Destiny, who Nas references throughout the song, took to Twitter to express her displeasure with the track.

"Just heard "Daughters" by Nas. What a disappointment! He had nothing positive to say about our daughter and his depiction of her is false!" she wrote. "Perhaps her father should be talking to her and spending more time with her so he can really get to know her...Destiny will be 18 in 2 months. Over it!"

When asked by her followers what made her so mad, Bryan responded by posing her own question: "Ques? do u really think Destiny appreciated that song? Seriously.....Destiny is still a child-it was the wrong platform," she said. "...he's not speaking on it-he's rapping about it. There's a huge difference and I don't respect it. Destiny is extremely talented, caring and has a huge heart, none of those things were mentioned. I'm proud of her."

On the song, Nas raps about his daughter writing letters to a man in jail and posting pictures of a box of condoms on a social networking site, blaming himself for some of her risqué behavior for not being more strict.

Nas recently sat down with XXLMag.com to discuss the track, saying about his teen daughter, "She’s so important to me and she always has been. They grow so fast and time flies, man. Before you know it, you’re looking at a little lady.

“She’s my first kid, my first time watching a child become a teen and a little adult before my eyes,” he continued. “That’s one of the most important things in my life: she is. I can’t get away from talking about it. It’s actually one of the first songs I recorded for this album.”

"Daughters" is Nas' latest single from his upcoming LP, Life Is Good, slated to drop July 17.

“Yeah, man, I guess we’re starting to give you the next chapter,” Nas explained about the album. “It’s like a story in a way. We’re about to give you the next records and give the people the album. That’s just opening up the album to people, it’s go time. We started, ‘Nasty’ been out there for a long time. Then ‘The Don’ that video should drop this week. Then, we open. The book is open. The movie begins. So ‘Daughters’ is like welcome to my world.” —Mariel Concepcion (@Mceezy)
