Azealia Banks Signs With Lady Gaga’s Manager

Azealia Banks is surely making moves in her music career.

Fresh off her highly-touted Coachella performance, Banks just announced she signed to Troy Carter, Lady Gaga's manager, under his Atom Factory Management firm, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The Harlem spitter was previously signed to XL Recordings, home to Adele, but parted ways with the label due to conflicting creative visions.

“I just switched management.. Literally like three days ago, and have a whole new set of resources to take advantage of,” Azealia tweeted on Tuesday (April 17). “We’re gonna vamp this up and make it official.. No more ghetto mixes and closet recording.. I have a budget now! #brokewithexpensivetaste”

The new management deal apparently led to the push back of Azealia Banks' EP, 1991, which was originally slated to drop yesterday. It is unclear as of press time when the project will drop.

Carter has a hefty trajectory in the music business, not only being an integral player in Lady Gaga's success, he also played a big role in the mainstream crossover of Eve.

Azealia's debut, Broke With Expensive Taste, is set to drop in September through Universal. And while Kanye West has taken a serious interest in the 20-year-old spitter, it still remains to be seen if Banks will join the G.O.O.D. Music family. —Gina Montana
