Day Four was just overwhelming. Mission Impossible as I called it on Twitter. We planned on attending the Woodie Awards, the What’s Next Battle showcase with Prodigy and J. Cole, the De Weezy launch with YMCMB, The Warner Music Sound featuring Meek Mill, B.o.B and T.I., among others, and a Geffen After party later on. Not to mention, we were still trying to stop by a Slaughterhouse video shoot and link up with Asher Roth, Mac Miller, Big Sean, Machine Gun Kelly, Kendrick Lamar, Meek Mill, Travis Porter and Raekwon.
Thursday March 15, 2012… 2:30 p.m.
We spot Havoc walking back to the hotel with what appears to be a bag from Foot Locker. This guy is everywhere.
Thursday March 15, 2012… 3:15 p.m.
We arrive at the MTVU Woodie Awards and get our credentials. MGK just got off stage so we head towards his trailer.
Thursday March 15, 2012… 3:36 p.m.
We spot MGK finishing up an interview with MTV News. He walks over to us afterwards, at which point we let him see the 2012 XXL Freshman issue for the first time.
Thursday March 15, 2012… 4:13 p.m.
Adam gets a text from Wale’s manager telling us to meet them at La Zona Rosa for sound check. We head out, with plans on stopping by J. Cole’s Who’s Next performance, and bump into one of our favorite people, Rostrum Records Vice President Arthur Pitt. After a brief convo he tells us to come back later for Mac’s Woodie performance.
Thursday March 15, 2012… 4:25 p.m.
Only feet away from J. Cole’s performance we spot Mobb Deep, 40 Glocc and Ferg Brim jogging away from the venue. We assume they’re running to another showcase, but who knows.
Thursday March 15, 2012… 4:37 p.m.
It turns out Mobb wasn’t running to another performance. Prodigy hasn’t even hit the stage yet. Knowing that we won’t be able to see Cole, we decide to save time and just head to La Zona Rosa.
Thursday March 15, 2012… 4:42 p.m.
On the walk over to LZR, we touch base with Big Sean, Meek and Kendrick. I then realize that I totally forgot to hit up B.o.B’s people, so I place a quick call to B. Rich and let him know we’re looking to interview Bob later tonight. He promises to make it happen.
